1. Study attendance is obligatory throughout the academic year, as well as participation in the
written and oral exams or any other kind of tests applied by the College.
2. T The term “study attendance” includes following lectures and lessons, participating in practical
work carried out in the laboratories/workshops of each course of study, seminars, exhibitions and
demonstrations, educational visits, being present in work places during the standard industrial
training weeks each academic year, as well as participating in all the activities prescribed in the
Programme of each course or by the teaching staff, including festive events and official parades.
3. Students are expected to arrive at the College at least 10 minutes before the start of the first
lesson. A student being late for class for any period of over 5 minutes after the commencement of
the
lesson shall not be admitted to the classroom. He would be permitted to enter the classroom for the
next
lesson. In such a case his/her absence during the lesson for which he/she was late may be considered
inexcusable.
CONSEQUENCES OF INADEQUATE ATTENDANCE
1. Absences are distinguished into justified and unjustified.
Justified absences are those supported by adequate documentation acceptable to the College (e.g.
extenuating circumstances, illness etc) and unjustified absences are those that are not
supported by any documentation or the excuse offered is not admissible, as being unreasonable or
at first sight untrue.
2. Absences on account of illness must be supported by
corresponding medical certificates. Absences for reasons of illness of up to five
non-consecutive days only may be justified in writing bearing the signature of the student.
3. A student who accumulates unjustified hourly absences
exceeding 20% of potential teaching periods during the year is excluded from the final exams.
ETHOS, CONDUCT
1. During their studies at the College, students must display higher ethos and impeccable
behavior
in their relations with the Administration, the Management, the Teaching, the Clerical and
auxiliary personnel of the College, as well as in their relations with their fellow students.
2. A student whose behaviour entails lack of respect towards or is offending to anyone’s
personality or is indecent or dishonest or whose conduct towards any member of the staff or
other student is utterly socially unacceptable is referred by decision of the Management to
appear before the Disciplinary Committee. The student is entitled to know beforehand the charges
against him and is given reasonable time to prepare his apology.
3. The Principal of the College has the discretionary power to inform the student’s family about
the student’s offence and the penalty imposed on the student, if he deems that this information
will ultimately be beneficial to the improvement of the student’s current and future behaviour.
DISCIPLINE, RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF STUDENTS
The Management of the College expects students:
1. To be polite and civil and to respect the Principal,
the tutors/lecturers and the personnel of the college in general.
2. To show self-respect, responsibility and respect for the
personality of other students irrespective of gender.
3. To respect and appreciate the premises and the property of
the College.
4. Not to provoke or harass in any way their fellow students and
in general not to endanger the lives or the bodily integrity of the lecturers or their fellow
students with their actions.
5. Loud talking, loitering or congregating, being a source of distraction and annoyance to
others is not permitted.
6. Students are required to be dressed neatly and decently.
7. Use of cell phones is strictly prohibited in all academic areas of the campus. Use of cell
phones would entail confiscation of the handset. It would be returned only: (a) At the end
of the course or, (b) After payment of a fine of Rs. 1,000/-.
8. Students are not allowed to leave the institute during working hours without the written
Permission of the Principal.
10. Students will not operate any machinery / equipment without the permission of the
instructor.
11. No responsibility will be accepted by the institute for any injury, loss or damage to the
personal articles of students.
12. It is compulsory for the students to attend functions /activities organized by the
institute on various occasions like Independence Day, Republic Day, Annual Day, etc whether
the function alls on a working day or on holidays. Absence from such functions without valid
reasons will invite disciplinary action. Students shall observe all safety precautions.
13.he institute is not responsible for any accident, of whatever nature, in the institute,
hostel, workshop, play ground and during summer training and industrial training or
educational tour/trip.
14. Students are prohibited to take part in ragging, political activity or any activity which
is detrimental to the dignity of the institute. Any student found violating the rule or
bringing disrepute to the institute will be expelled from the institute.
15. The students will compensate damage to institute/ hostel property/furniture caused by
neglect or willful damage. Defacing the walls or institute property will be viewed
seriously.
16. Students must make all possible efforts to conserve electricity and water. They must
switch off lights & fans when they leave the class room/ hostel room, lab etc.
17. Students must help keep the institute neat and clean and also preserve and maintain the
gardens.
18. Students must pay their fee/dues on or before the prescribed deadline failing which
appropriate disciplinary action will be taken. Students may note that fees once paid will
not be refunded/ adjusted.
➢ If a student leaves the course before completion, he/she will be required to pay the fee
for the entire course.
19. Students must keep their identity cards always with them and shall show the same on demand
by any faculty/official of the institute.
20. Candidates have to fulfill the minimum attendance requirements as per university MUHS
norms. students will absent himself/herself from any of the lectures without leave having
been obtained previously from the Class In- charge and that too for sufficient cause and if
he/she is irregular in attendance, or fails to show progress or is not diligent in studies,
his /her name is liable to be struck off from the rolls of the institute.
21. The students are advised to see regularly the notices displayed on the Institute/hostel
notice Boards. The notice displayed on these notice boards shall be deemed to have been
served on the students.
22. Parents/Guardians are advised not to encourage their wards to remain absent without
sufficient reasons during the academic session.
