The Placement and Career Guidance Cell have been established in accordance with the guidelines and recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Indian Nursing Council (INC), Maharashtra Nursing Council (MNC), and the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The Cell is committed to supporting students in their career planning, professional development, and successful transition into the healthcare workforce.
The Cell functions as a comprehensive resource centre that offers career counselling, professional mentoring, guidance for higher education, and initiatives to improve students’ employability. It regularly conducts career awareness programmes, postgraduate entrance examination coaching sessions, soft skills and communication training, personality development workshops, interview and résumé preparation sessions, research career orientation, and interactive sessions with alumni and healthcare professionals.
The Cell provides students with information and guidance on postgraduate nursing programmes, research careers, public health, healthcare administration, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities in hospitals, educational institutions, research organizations, and government healthcare services (DHS, DMER, AIIMS). Students are also supported in preparing for competitive examinations, applying for scholarships, exploring national and international educational opportunities, and understanding professional registration and licensing requirements. Where experts guest lectures and interaction with alumni is organised.
Consistent with the Indian Nursing Council’s competency-based education framework, the Cell emphasizes the development of leadership abilities, professional ethics, effective communication, critical thinking, and lifelong learning skills. By offering structured career guidance and placement support, the Placement and Career Guidance Cell enable students to confidently transition from academic education to professional practice while preparing them to become skilled, responsible, and socially committed healthcare healthcare professionals.
