Lieutenant General Dr. B. Sadananda, (Retd.) AVSM, VSM, is a distinguished military medical professional, academic leader, and administrator with over 38 years of exemplary service in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). Commissioned as a Lieutenant on 22 January 1967, he rose through the ranks to attain the prestigious position of Lieutenant General, reflecting his exceptional leadership, professional excellence, and dedicated service to the nation.

Throughout his illustrious military career, he held several key professional, administrative, and academic appointments, including Director (Operations), Director (Standardization), Director (Quality Assurance), and Director of several multi-specialty and super-specialty hospitals. He also commanded the Army Medical Corps Centre and College, where he played a pivotal role in the education and training of Medical Officers, Dental Officers, Nursing Officers, and paramedical personnel.

In recognition of his outstanding service and distinguished contributions to military healthcare, he was awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) and the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) by the Hon'ble President of India.

Following his retirement from the Armed Forces, he joined the Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation in June 2005 as Director General of the Medical College and Allied Disciplines. His visionary leadership was instrumental in establishing several premier institutions under the Foundation, including the Medical College, College of Physiotherapy, College of Nursing, and numerous postgraduate programmes in various medical specialties, significantly strengthening the Foundation's healthcare and educational ecosystem.

He subsequently served as the Vice-Chancellor of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Loni, where he made valuable contributions to academic excellence, institutional development, and quality medical education.

At present, he serves as the Academic Advisor to the Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation, Ahilyanagar, providing strategic guidance to its diverse institutions.

With his vast experience in healthcare administration, medical education, institutional planning, and academic leadership, Lieutenant General Dr. B. Sadananda (Retd.) continues to inspire excellence and innovation across the Foundation. His lifelong commitment to discipline, integrity, and service remains a guiding force in advancing the Foundation's mission of quality education and healthcare for society.
