College Facilities

To build up a library is to create a life. It’s never just a random collection of books. – Carlos María Domínguez DVVPF’s, College of Nursing, Ahmednagar has instructional library and attachment with the Central library. With the developments in Information and Communication Technologies, the library is also trying its best to adapt with the technological advancement. The services of the library is automated for various activities such as acquisition, cataloguing, circulation with provision for renewals, online public access catalogue. The identity of all books and the library users are fully bar-coded and all Library operations like, acquisition, cataloguing and circulation services have been automated with the help of “Soft-Lib” Library Management Software”.

The CON Institutional library, being a member of DELNET Library Consortium, provides online access to more than 88 Nursing peer-reviewed full text journals and more than 375 ebooks. On demand of users Institutional library is now member of British Council Library, Pune.

Library reference section is open for the students and the teacher from 9:00 to 5:00pm on all working days. Reading hall of departmental library is open for 8 hours a day, but central library reading hall is available for 24 x 7. Library also has facility of new paper reading area.

Institute has internet section available, and has free Wi-Fi facilities of bandwidth speed of 20Mbps inside the institute, which has free accessibility to all the students in the institute for the purpose of thesis.

Xerox, Printing and scanning facility is also available in library itself for the students and staff members. This facility is open for 2 hour i.e. from 11-12 pm and 3-4 pm in departmental library. Central library timing for Xerox and printing is 9am to 4pm.

To ensure proper surveillance, Electronic Surveillance through CCTV has been adopted in some areas within the library.

Nursing student’s hostel is a three-storied building and students are accommodated in partially furnished rooms. At the reception there is an office for warden and a visiting room, where relatives and visitors are permitted to meet their wards. Toilets and bathrooms are available on each floor. Hostel has a lawn and a ground where students can play and relax.
