The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) of our college is constituted in accordance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) Guidelines to promote an inclusive, equitable, safe, and accessible learning environment for all students, particularly those belonging to the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs). The Cell functions as an umbrella body that coordinates with existing statutory bodies such as the SC/ST Cell, OBC Cell, (ICC), (IQAC), and other relevant committees to ensure equal access. The Equal Opportunity Cell is committed to safeguarding the constitutional rights, dignity, safety, and well-being of all students while fostering an atmosphere of equality, diversity, and mutual respect.
Safeguard the constitutional rights and interests of students belonging to (SEDGs).
Promote an inclusive, safe, secure, and discrimination-free campus environment.
Provide academic, emotional, social, and mentoring support through counselling and guidance.
Facilitate bridge courses, remedial coaching, mentoring, and other academic support initiatives for students requiring additional assistance.
Encourage active participation of SEDG students in academic, co-curricular, extracurricular, cultural, and leadership activities.
Ensure effective implementation of reservation policies, scholarships, fellowships, and welfare schemes.
Develop outreach initiatives to encourage students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education.
Promote awareness regarding laws and policies against discrimination and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Disseminate UGC guidelines, Government notifications, and institutional policies related to equal opportunity and student welfare.
Address grievances of students fairly, confidentially, and promptly through the prescribed grievance redressal mechanism.
Coordinate with statutory bodies and institutional committees to implement welfare schemes and support services for SEDG students.
Facilitate awareness and access to scholarships, fellowships, fee concessions, financial assistance, and government welfare programmes.
Organize bridge courses, remedial coaching, mentoring, counselling, and skill development programmes.
Promote inclusive practices by sensitizing faculty, staff, and students on diversity, equality, gender sensitivity, disability inclusion, and social justice.
Encourage resource mobilization through alumni, CSR initiatives, and other agencies to support deserving students.
Coordinate with the IQAC to promote inclusive quality education and monitor institutional initiatives.
Function as a single-window support system for student welfare, guidance, and grievance redressal.
