Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation, Ahmednagar, established in 1982 under the Bombay Public Trust Act, is dedicated to providing quality education in engineering, agriculture, medicine, and management. Founded by Padmabhushan Shri. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, the foundation aims to spread technical and medical education in rural areas for national human resource development.
In 1982, the journey began with the College of Engineering, followed by the School of Management (IBMRD) offering MBA and MCA courses. The College of Agriculture started in 2013-14. Actively engaged in serving society since 1982, the foundation emphasizes excellence and holistic student development.
The foundation's mission includes providing specialized high-quality education, conducting independent and collaborative research, and equipping students with analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong industry interaction, seminars, training, and placement activities contribute to students' success.
Inspired by Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil, the foundation has contributed to the emergence of other quality educational institutions like Pravara Rural Education Society and Pravara Medical Trust, all dedicated to values-centered technical education.
The pioneer of Sugar Co-operative movement, who had a humble beginning, was chiefly instrumental in, organizing the much exploited sugarcane ‘growers of the 44 villages, in and around Pravaranagar, way back in 1948, and establishing Asia’s first co-operative sugar factory, which was commissioned in 1950. Born in a farmer’s family at Loni in 1901, he was distresses by pity condition of plight of the poor, the illiterate and the downtrodden peasantry who were exploited by the money lenders, feudal lords, and private sugar factory owners. In those days the local peasantry of Pravara area had to face difficulties in marketing of sugarcane, as conversion of sugarcane into Sugar was totally uneconomical and the “Jaggery Prices, reached the rock bottom. Therefore, Padmashri began exploring ways of uplifting the farmers of this area. It dawned on him that co-operative movement was the only ideal medium to achieve his goal. So synergetic co-operative movement in India. He pioneered co-operative movement as a tool for social, educational & economic upliftment of the rural masses.

Worthy son of Late Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil, a leader of reckoning in Maharashtra State, Member of Parliament for over two decades took upon himself the arduous task of translating the dreams of his father into concrete realities by meticulous, punctilious planning and by offering dynamic and pragmatic leadership to the Society Social Transformation through Education, with this realisation, he adopted a strategy to raise awareness amongst the small peasants and the rural poor, through spread of technical and non-technical education Services to the Society on different positions.

He is the Guiding Light and soul in development of Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s College of Agriculture. In continuation to visionary thoughts of Hon’ble Shri Balasaheb Vikhe Patil the envisaged future plans are being implemented under his dynamic leadership, with Prime Aim to provide quality agricultural graduates to society and also all type of educational facilities and infrastructure to Rural as well as Urban masses.
(Member of Parliament, Ahmednagar constituency) Trustee and Chief Executive Officer, Padmashree Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation and Neurosurgeon, born on November 21st, 1982, completed his schooling from The Daly College, Indore. He then pursued his Professional Education in Medical Sciences and completed his MBBS from K.L.E.’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum. He completed his M.S. (General Surgery) from Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni and Superspeciality in M.Ch (Neurosurgery) from D.Y.Patil Medical College, Pimpri, Pune. As soon as he took over as “Executive Director” of PDVVPF’s Medical College and Hospital in June 2011, he was instrumental in starting Post Graduate courses in 14 Disciplines of Medicine along with an increase in intake of MBBS from 100 to 150. Similarly Post graduate courses were also started in 4 disciplines of Physiotherapy. A Dental College with Intake capacity of 100 Students/Year is also proposed from AY 2015-16. In April 2012, he took over as “Chief Executive Officer” of PDVVP Foundation. Since then ultra modern & well equipped Administrative as well as Academic Buildings have come up for Engineering, IBMRD and Pharmacy. It was under his dynamic leadership that our 30 year old Engineering College was accredited with “A” Grade by NBA, New Delhi. An Agriculture College with a Intake capacity of 60 students was also started in June 2013 under his Guidance.. Now, with his vast experience in educational Sector, he has planned to start an International School with Unique facilities of Highest Standards.
Commissioned in the Armed Forces Medical Services in 1967 as Lieutenant, he achieved the highest rank of Lieutenant General during his 38-year service. Holding prestigious roles such as Director (Operations) and Director (Quality Assurance), he commanded army Medical Corps center & College, overseeing the training of various medical and para-medical staff. Awarded Ati Vishishta Seva Medal (AVSM) & Vishishta Seva Medal (VSM) by the President of India, he later served as Director General of Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation's Medical College. His contributions include initiating various medical disciplines and serving as the "Vice-Chancellor" of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Loni. Currently, he serves as the "Academic Advisor" of Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation, Ahmednagar, overseeing multiple institutes.
Dr. Dattatreyudu Nori, M.D., FACR, FACRO, is Professor and Executive Vice
Chairman of the Radiation
Oncology Department at The NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College in New
York
City. In addition, Dr. Nori is Chairman of Radiation Oncology at The New York Hospital Medical
Center of Queens. He is also the Director of the Cancer Center at the New York Hospital Queens,
in
which capacity he heads that organization's cancer program. Dr. Nori completed his undergraduate
training at Kurnool Medical College and received his postgraduate medical degree from Osmania
University in India.
He then joined the sta of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he became Chief of the Brachytherapy Service before accepting the current position as Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Cornell. Dr. Nori has an international reputation as a pioneer and authority in radiation oncology and brachytherapy. He was instrumental in introducing the current techniques and clinical concepts of High Dose Rate Brachytherapy for gynecological, genitourinary, thoracic and head and neck tumors. His research also included e"orts to improve the outcome for patients with prostate cancer, lung cancer, pancreas, breast and other cancers. Dr. Nori has served as principal investigator for numerous clinical trails sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and has received several national and international awards for his contributions to cancer research, including the Distinguished Alumnus Award of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Alumni Society. He has been called "a recognized leader in his specialty" by the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine.
Dr. Nori served in the American Cancer Society in various positions including Chairmanship of the Professional Education Committee. The American Cancer Society honored him with their highest prestigious award "Tribute to Life" for his accomplishments in cancer research. Dr. Nori has trained more than 150 residents and fellows, some of whom have become Chairman of academic departments in the U.S. Dr. Nori is a Fellow in the American College of Radiology, Fellow in the American College of Radiation Oncology, past President of the American Brachytherapy Society, and a current member of several national and international oncology societies. He is also an Associate Editor of three oncology journals as well as a Visiting Professor to many universities in the U.S. and abroad. He has published three books and more than 200 scientific articles. He has given several prestigious lectureships such as the Probstein Oncology lecture at Washington University in St. Louis. He received a Gold Medal from the Indian Medical Association for his contributions to cancer research and training Indian physicians in the U.S. He also received the Excelcier Award from the Network of Indian Professionals in the United States and many Indian Organizations in the U.S., such as the Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation and the Federation of Indian Associations have honored him for his contributions to cancer research.
Dr. Nori has provided technical and scientific help to many cancer centers in India, South America and Israel, and he is also the Founding Member of the Indo-American Cancer Institute for Women and Children, a state-of-the art 250 bed cancer and research institute located in Hyderabad, A.P. which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India in 2001. In addition, Dr. Nori is a Consultant to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency, advising on the formulation of guidelines for the treatment of cancer in developing countries. In a recent survey conducted by the reputable Castle Connolly Medical Ltd and published in America's Top Doctors, Dr. Nori has been selected as one of the top doctors in America. In this survey, more than 250,000 leading doctors were asked to name the nation's best physicians in various specialties - those "to whom you would send members of your family". The most important criterion for physician selection was excellence in patient care, education, residency, board certification, fellowships, professional reputation, research, hospital affiliation, academic stature and medical school faculty appointment and experience. In a more recent survey done by the most popular woman's magazine in the U.S., The Ladies' Home Journal, Dr. Nori has also been named as one of the top doctors in America for the treatment of cancers in women. Dr. Nori was also honored by Senator Jon Corgine, Chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Committee and by Council Speaker Gi"ord Miller for his contributions to cancer research. Dr. Nori continues to be active as clinician, teacher, researcher and administrator of two large Radiation Oncology Departments and the Cancer Center at New York Hospital Queens.
